ABOUT ME
As war reporter My work took me from Ukraine to Iraq to Afghanistan, from the areas of tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia to the Russian regions of Chechnya, to Syria, to Lebanon, to Israel and the West Bank as well as to the Democratic Republic of Congo - everywhere I looked for the human stories behind the abstract headlines, for the personal fates that are hidden in the great political upheavals of our time. Where bombs fall, people grow beyond themselves. That's what I'm telling you.
As a close observer and analyst But I am also interested in Europe and the world, in raw material flows, in the relationship between capital, power and resources, the abrupt shifts in geopolitical plate tectonics and the ecological and humanitarian challenges of our present.
I work with my camera, my audio recorder and my notepad and try to capture the reality of reality.
Our goal
As co-editor-in-chief of the English-language quarterly magazine „European Voices: A platform for Europe’s dialogue“ I was involved in creating a continental dialogue platform that brings together different perspectives from all corners of Europe. The mission statement of the magazine, which is published in collaboration with the „Presse“ and the „Austrian Society for Foreign Policy and the United Nations“, states: We have opened an open space for political discussions in which experts, scientists, authors, thinkers and observers can reflect on Europe's current state and share their visions for the future. Our goal is to contribute to Europe's development through nuanced exchanges between different viewpoints.
