BOOKS

My books reflect my long-term involvement with global power structures and raw materials politics. Already in 1998 I illuminated “Stepping stones to power” the mechanisms of Austrian elite education. Written together with Klaus Werner “Black Book Oil” became an international success and was translated into eight languages - from Arabic to Greek. With the “Black Book Gold” I deepened the critical raw material analysis while “The Pacific Epoch” looks at the rise of Asia and the European response to it. What all publications have in common is the desire to make complex global connections accessible to a broad audience.
Reception: My books have consistently received a remarkable response and have triggered social debates. The critical analysis of global power structures and economic interrelationships was widely echoed by leading publications and broadcasters.

The “The Pacific Epoch” was widely received. The Falter review praised the book as a welcome corrective to European tunnel vision, the portal for political science analyzed the geopolitical argument in detail, and the specialist portal Indian Economy recommended it as a well-founded examination of the Asian rise. The Tiroler Tageszeitung highlighted the extensive field studies and the historical depth of the analysis. The range of reception - from the daily press to specialist academic portals to international business blogs - underlines the relevance of the theses for an audience from politics, business and science.

Also those written together with Klaus Werner and Brigitte Reisenberger “Black Books” on oil and gold received considerable response. The book portal Pearl Diving brought together reviews from renowned newspapers such as the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. This consistent media attention shows that the questions raised in the books about greed, power and the global consequences of our economic system hit a nerve and endure as important contributions to the public debate.

The Pacific Epoch - How Europe can hold its own against the world power of Asia.
